The World Is Too Much With Us
What I mean by living to one's self is living in the world, as in it, not of it. ~William Haslitt

William Wordsworth said " The world is too much with us. Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers."

Many women might agree with him. We're chronically exhausted from the "getting" - the amount of energy spent earning a living and juggling the demands of home and career.

We need to begin turning away from the world and recognizing what makes us truly happy. For each of us, that will be different.

Today's challenge: Deliberately turn away from the world. Don't read the newspapers or watch the nightly news for a week. Wean yourself away from the opinions of others. Listen.

Today's exercise: Write down 10 things you are grateful for in this moment.
